Bureaucracy busting partnership will save millions of NHS, UK
The British Ministry of Health announced today that it has signed a new partnership with the private sector Xansa to improve and expand the range of social services provided by the NHS. The partnership will save over 220 million of NHS money over the next ten years to get more NHS Trusts to use the centralized service centers to perform back-office work, such as paying bills, statements VAT, credit and bank account reconciliation. Xansa will form a joint venture with the Ministry of Health, with the company a 50 per cent in the existing centers currently operated by NHS Shared Financial Services. The new company
will be called NHS Shared Business Services Limited. Under the partnership, Xansa will invest people, resources and expertise to support existing centers to provide increased capacity, improve services and expand the service portfolio to include payroll and electronic commerce for example.Health Minister John Hutton said: Keep doing the NHS will help streamline administrative functions, reduce bureaucracy and generate savings for reinvestment in frontline services. The joint venture will produce significant savings - enough to pay the annual salaries of more than 3,000 doctors and nurses 12,000.
